    I learn latin at school and you used ind. Imperfect form of verb video.2 wich is used to describe long lasting actions in the past that acctually happend. And i think it translates to "i have watched (for a short time)" rather than "saw". Many believe that Cezar originaly used another form of it but over time it changed to vici just for the "better sound"
