Why on earth is everyone building ladders up towers in *** doors again?

Stevedog: I never use those door elevators. They are slow and not reliable because if one player stands on the doors, the rest can't go up.
What you saw me building is a variation of the repairable-from-behind wall design. I had to change it because of the glitch BlueLuigi mentions on this same thread.

I thought the repairable wall designs fell out of favour months ago!

 

Strathos repairable towers have a place . . . The problem with them is they require a dedicated builder to stay near them to repair them. Personally I would rather build a tower that will last and go archer then back to builder if it needs crucial repairs. Heck take a look at this screenshot:


Note, this is late in the game after it had been pounded a ton.

I built this tower in the first rush with materials I had and foraged from fallen builders. Then I went archer and red put up a huge offense the whole game, but I just sat up there and racked up 33 kills and 2 deaths in 1 round. I don't think our team would've won if I had stayed builder and just sat in it repairing.


ANYWAY, now that I have completely gone off topic I will say this:

Door ladders are too expensive.
